Cutting tools made of tungsten carbide and cobalt are far more heat- and
abrasion-resistant than those made of conventional high-speed steel. Carbide cutting

materials such as carbon steel or stainless steel. In general, carbide tools create
a superior finish on items than steel tools do because they hold a sharp cutting
edge better and their temperature resistance enables quicker machining. The
substance is frequently referred to as hard metal, solid carbide, cemented carbide,
or tungsten-carbide cobalt. It is a metal matrix composite, with metallic cobalt
acting as the matrix and tungsten carbide particles as the aggregate. It has been
discovered that adding iron aluminide in place of cobalt can enhance the wear and
